After 2 and a half hours of pushing, here he is Mateo Victor Galaz. He was born last night at 7:09pm, weighing 7lbs 8 ounces and 19.5 inches. Sorry it has taken so long, this is the first time I could get to a computer. We are still in the hospital, they need to keep us at least 24 hours in order to complete newborn exams. We expect to be released tomorrow (9/30) morning. Everything has been going well. Mateo was born healthy and he has already been nursing and learning how to latch on. He has a healthy set of lungs, but Marie and I are starting to see that his needs right now are few and so we have a couple of things we can do to calm him down. It usually involves feeding, changing a diaper, or burping him. The first picture is of Mateo 5 minutes after he was born. You can see my thumb on the left, he is so amazingly tiny with a huge head of hair. The second picture was taken today while in our new room. Thanks for everyone's well wishes and we will continue to add pictures here every couple of days.
